Process & Cleanroom Design Architect (CTO+)
At ABN Cleanroom Technology, we don’t design cleanrooms as spaces; we design systems. As a Process & Cleanroom Design Architect, you are the link between client processes and the physical reality of a cleanroom. You translate complex workflows into smart, efficient, and validated environments where contamination control, ergonomics, and flow are central. This isn’t a traditional design role. You aren’t designing walls, but movement, logic, and process reliability.
About the Job
In this role, you start from the process, not from aesthetics. You analyze how people and materials move through a controlled environment and translate this into well-thought-out cleanroom layouts and furnishings.
You work closely with engineering, sales, and project teams and actively contribute to the further expansion of our CTO+ approach and the ADAPTUS® platform.
In practice, this means:
- Designing cleanroom layouts with a focus on personnel flows (PAL), material flows (MAL), and zoning
- Translating URS and client needs into functional and validated designs
- Developing cleanroom furniture (gowning systems, cabinets, lab tables, pass boxes)
- Working with CAD/BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM)
- Integrating designs within ADAPTUS® building blocks
- Contributing to standardization and modularization within the CTO+ philosophy
- Collaborating intensively with internal teams (engineering, sales, project management)
Skills & Qualifications
We aren’t looking for a traditional draftsman, but someone who understands systems and can design flow. Someone who can translate abstract needs into concrete, workable solutions.
- You have a bachelor's or master's degree in (interior) architecture, industrial design, or equivalent
- You have an affinity for cleanrooms, pharma, laboratories, or high-tech environments
- You have experience with CAD/BIM (Revit is a strong plus)
- You have strong spatial and functional insight
- You have an analytical mindset with a focus on processes and logic
- You work in a structured, accurate, and detail-oriented manner
